Manor Technology was established to specialise in Wear Debris Monitoring developments. Since then the economic advantages of employing Machine Condition Monitoring have become increasingly obvious. The ensuing benefits of greater reliability and reduced plant cost are now often viewed as essential in maintaining competitiveness in modern operations.

MTML now supplies MIDAS; the most sensitive and easy to use ferrous debris monitor available. Applicable equally to the monitoring of engines, gearboxes and fluid power systems, these technologies provide an early indication of deteriorating machine health. Trending of regular wear debris values will frequently indicate signs of failure before other condition monitoring techniques, e.g. vibration monitoring or thermography.

A valuable addition to your oil analysis, tribology, and Reliability Centred Maintenance programmes. MTML offers two variants of the MIDAS one for measurement of ferrous debris in oil and the MIDAS dry for quantify ferrous debris in filters or on magnet plugs. Both units are shown below.

This variant of MIDAS technology provides a consistent reading of ferrous debris collected on a filter membrane or derived from a magnetic plug taken from the system being monitored. Positioning of the debris is non-critical and readings are independent of operator.

The instrument was developed in response to UK MoD / RAF requirements for an improved debris trending capability. It has been extensively evaluated by DERA and the RAF with a high degree of success. In particular use of MIDAS was found to reduce inconsistencies in results made by different operators with pre-existing equipment. More recently it has recieved interest for overseas Air Force service.

MIDAS Dry combines sensitive, consistent and repeatable debris measurement in a rugged unit which is easy to operate.
